Bark Culture is a Philadelphia-based trio led by vibraphonist Victor Vieira-Branco, featuring Joey Sullivan on drums and John Moran on bass. Since touring and actively playing in the northeast of the United States since 2021, the group will be releasing their first record “Warm Wisdom” on Vieira-Branco’s label Temperphantom, set for release in Summer/Fall of 2024.

Victor Vieira-Branco is a Brazilian/American vibraphonist, having spent the 2010s in and around the vibrant Sao Paulo music scene. In Philadelphia he is a member of Philadelphia’s longest running artist run gallery Vox Populi, where he presents a monthly improvised music series called World Again. In Brazil he worked closely with Mauricio Takara and Rodrigo Hara in Trio Repelente, amongst others.  While Bark Culture is Vieira-Branco’s primary vehicle as a leader, his performances include work with Rob Mazurek’s Exploding Star Orchestra, the Chad Taylor Quintet, and as active as an improviser/presenter in the northeast region of the United States, working with artists such as Toshi Makihara, Dorothy Carlos, Webb Crawford, Michael Foster, Joey Sullivan and John Moran.
